This kit is designed for the Ford Folks who have heard the 347 stroker oil burning nightmares that are caused by the piston pin being located in the oil ring groove. This kit eliminates the possibility of oil being burned because the piston pin is separate from and located below the oil ring groove. This is achieved by using a shorter 5.315" rod. By using a shorter rod, a special ground crank must be used to insure proper clearance between the crank counterweights and the pistons. The cast steel crank is a special grind from the folks at Scat that allows the use of the shorter 5.315" rod. The pistons are the standard quality 2618 alloy piston that we have all come to expect from the good folks at PROBE Industries. The rods are our own brand that we have been supplying for years. They are a high quality 4340 steel rod that is finished overseas. Because they are finished overseas, it allows our customers to purchase them for substantially less than any of our competitors 4340 steel rods. Clevite 77 is the standard when it comes to bearings and we use them on both rods and the mains. Pioneer is our choice for a quality steel balancer. We also like it's popularity based on the number of orders we have gotten from coast to coast Ford owners. The flexplate is a high quality SFI approved product distributed by the same folks that make the crank for this kit, Scat. The balance job is performed on the world famous "Hines" balance machine. We take the time to proudly balance the assembly to within plus or minus 1 gram before it is carefully packaged up and sent to our valued customers.
